Mohamed Salah To Real Madrid Is “Only A Matter Of Time” Says Paul Merson

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has revealed that Liverpool’s talisman Mohamed Salah will be joining Real Madrid sometime soon if he keeps scoring as he does.

Salah had an absolutely phenomenal debut season last term in which the Egyptian superstar scored 44 goals in all competitions which helped Liverpool reach the Champions League final. During the start of this season, there were rumors floating across the European continent which stated that the 26-year-old forward was just a ‘one season wonder’ but Salah has hushed his critics with three goals in a span of three days only growing from strength to strength.

Salah took his tally to six goals for this season after the Red Star Belgrade game and the Liverpool winger became the fastest player in the history of the club to score half a century of goals. And for people who think that he is having a poor season may need to check their facts once again.

However, this exceptional goalscoring record means that the biggest clubs across the European continent will be calling for his signature, and pundit Paul Merson believes that it could only be a matter of time before Salah becomes a Galactico.

While writing on his personal column the 50-year-old Englishman went on to describe how Salah could join the Los Blancos, “If Salah keeps on scoring Madrid will come calling. How can they not? They need to do something big and they will want him in January. They are struggling like mad. If Salah wanted to go, Liverpool would be powerless to stop him I can’t remember the last player to say ‘no’ to Real Madrid or Barcelona. It’s another level.”

The ex-Gunner explained that Salah is not happy at Liverpool and the club has sold unhappy players in the past, “Salah doesn’t look happy at Liverpool at the moment and we’ve seen this before with players like Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho. I watched him score against Huddersfield and his body language looked terrible. That would worry me if I was a Liverpool fan. If you take his goals away they’re not title contenders anymore. Liverpool fans have seen big players leave before. They would be fuming if Salah left too. But this is what happens when you’re successful in the Premier League.”

The only worrying thing about Salah scoring loads of goals is the fact that Real Madrid or Barcelona come calling. But I think this time Jurgen Klopp will be adamant to sell any of his star players as Liverpool are genuine contenders to win big trophies.
