Mohamed Salah wants to stay in the Premier League if he leaves Liverpool next summer

Mohamed Salah wants to stay in the Premier League if he leaves Liverpool next summer amidst a long drawn out contract impasse at Anfield.

The Egypt international had asserted ahead of the Champions League final showdown against Real Madrid that he intends to rebuff any attempts to prise him out of Merseyside with Jurgen Klopp keen to retain his talisman.

Salah’s future at Anfield beyond the summer of 2023, however, could prove to be the subject of much speculation with the 29-year-old likely to call it quits as a free agent at the end of next season if no contract offer comes his way.

According to a report from The Atheltic, Salah’s preference would be to stay in the Premier League rather than make the move abroad despite the likes of Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain eyeing up his signature.

He was Liverpool’s leading goalscorer in top flight action across the 2021-22 season with 23 strikes to his name which earned Salah his third Premier League Golden Boot but could not propel his side to the title.
