Mohammad Salah admits to concerns over playing role before Liverpool FC move

Liverpool FC star Mohammad Salah has revealed earlier fears prior to signing for the Reds from AS Roma in 2017. The Egyptian talisman has become one of the best players in the world after his move to Anfield. Salah’s performances in the Liverpool FC shirt have been fantastic with the winger scoring 92 goals in 145 appearances for the Reds.

However, Salah admitted to having been concerned about his playing position in Jurgen Klopp’s side before joining Liverpool FC. Salah’s concern was due to Sadio Mane being played by Klopp in the right-wing position, which is Salah’s preferred role on the pitch.

Mane had signed for the Reds a year earlier than Salah, with the Senegalese joining Liverpool FC in 2016. The 2016 17 season had seen Mane operate as a right-winger for the Reds to plaudits for his performance.

Salah was, however, told by Jurgen Klopp that Mane would be now played as a left-sided winger upon the Egyptian signing for the Reds. Since then, both Salah and Mane have performed in an exceptional manner for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC side.

The 28-year old Salah added that every player in the Reds squad helped each other to perform better. Moreover, the support of his Liverpool FC teammates since his signing for the Merseyside club has been fantastic.

The Egyptian international also commented upon his motive for joining Liverpool FC from AS Roma. Salah stated that his poor showing for Chelsea FC in the Premier League had made him more determined to perform well for the Reds. The 28-year old had signed for the Blues in 2014, however, turned to be a flop signing for side and was soon offloaded to AS Roma two years later.

Salah expressed his delight of having helped Liverpool FC win their first Premier League title in 30 years. The forward is currently ranked fourth on this season’s Premier League’s goalscoring charts. With 17 goals to his name, Salah finds himself trailing Danny Ings, Aubameyang, and Jamie Vardy in a quest to win his third successive Golden Boot.
