Neco Williams, Nat Phillips and James Milner trio set to make XI for weekend fixture against Leicester City

Neco Williams and Nathaniel Phillips are in the mix to start Sunday’s Anfield showdown between Liverpool FC and Leicester City following the duo of Trent Alexander Arnold and Joe Gomez getting sidelined with respective injury troubles within a span of one week.

Both Williams and Phillips are mainly fringe first-teamers at Anfield, and opportunities to make Jurgen Klopp’s XI have been hard to come by for the defensive pair. However, a recent spree of injuries plaguing the Premier League champions’ backline is likely to mean much more game-time in the reckoning to both players.

James Milner, on the other hand, is yet to make his first Premier League start this season, could be afforded a chance in the midfield on Sunday as doubts continue to linger over Jordan Henderson’s full fitness for the Leicester City fixture, according to the Daily Mail.

Trent Alexander Arnold’s injury is understood to be a short-term rule out for the English full-back, meaning that Neco Williams should start the game at Anfield this weekend on the right side of the four-man defence.

The only fit central defender in Jurgen Klopp’s senior squad, Joel Matip, is likely to be partnered by Nat Phillips come Sunday, with the latter having made a sole appearance this season in the Premier League which came in the 2-1 victory over West Ham United last month.
