Newcastle United could play spoilsport to Liverpool’s plans for Ismaila Sarr

Newcastle United could play spoilsport to Liverpool’s plans for Ismaila Sarr with the Reds long interested in landing the in-demand Watford attacker.

Sarr has been a standout performer for the relegation-threatened Hornets but is tipped to leave the club should they fail to escape the drop zone and move back to the Championship next season.

Jurgen Klopp’s Anfield giants are right in the mix for the Senegal international whose potential move to Merseyside this coming summer could provide Klopp with another valuable asset in the final third of the pitch.

According to a report from The Sun, however, Newcastle United on the back of their recent takeover are also eyeing up Sarr as a top name on the shopping list for the gaffer Eddie Howe with competition rising for longstanding suitors Liverpool.

The Magpies, now backed by a Saudi-based group, are expected to make major moves in the transfer market this summer with Liverpool striker Divock Origi another attacking name on the radar of Howe and Co.
