Newcastle United keeping close tabs on Liverpool striker Divock Origi

Newcastle United are credited with a strong interest in signing Divock Origi with the Magpies keeping close tabs on the Liverpool striker.

On the back of their takeover by a Saudi Arabia-based group, Newcastle are expected to make major moves in the now open January transfer window to bolster the ranks under Eddie Howe’s disposal.

According to reports from The Telegraph, Liverpool’s first-team outcast Divock Origi is a top name on the shopping list at St. James’ Park with the Belgium international tracked by the Newcastle camp who remain on the hunt for a new striker.

Callum Wilson’s injury has forced Eddie Howe to scout the market for reinforcements in the final third and joining the likes of Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah and Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke is the Reds forward player Origi.

Wage demands remain a stumbling block on the transfer front for Origi who is heavily linked with a move away from Anfield sooner rather than later following his fall down the pecking order in the Liverpool fold.
