Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are now the frontrunners in the race to sign Liverpool contract rebel Gini Wijnaldum who looks set to seal his Anfield exit at the end of this month.
After saying his goodbyes on Merseyside in Liverpool’s final game of this past season, Wijnaldum looked set to secure a move to his long-term suitors FC Barcelona who had been keeping tabs on him since the summer of 2020.

However, PSG appeared to have come in with the big bucks and are willing to offer the Holland international a huge wage bump, believed to be twice of what FC Barcelona is tabling in front of the 30-year-old midfielder, to lure him to the French capital city, according to Fabrizio Romano.
PSG boss Pochettino also is understood to have played a crucial role in convincing Wijanldum to choose the Ligue 1 outfit ahead of FC Barcelona with the player gearing up to head into the forthcoming UEFA Euros.
What does Wijnaldum’s transfer mean for Liverpool?
Jurgen Klopp’s side gain nothing from Wijnaldum’s imminent move to France with the Reds losing out on the long-serving Dutchman on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract.
There is a huge clamour amongst the Liverpool fanbase on urging their side to find a replacement for Wijnaldum amid reports that Klopp is not looking for players in the transfer market despite a key first-teamer calling it quits at Anfield.
