Kylian Mbappe is understood to have had recent talks with the Paris Saint-Germain management over his desire to leave the French club at the end of the 2020-21 season.
Speculation indicates the forward’s wish to seal a move to the Premier League next summer, with Liverpool FC being seen as a favourable destination for the 21-year old. However, the Reds’ arch-rivals in top-flight football, Manchester United are also being considered as a likely club to enter the race to sign the player should his PSG exit be confirmed.
Mbappe has always been a topic of transfer rumours related to the Merseyside giants since a number of years. Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp is also known to be a huge admirer of the young attacker’s style of play, with certain reports stating that the ex-AS Monaco star-striker is a top target for the German coach to sign in the coming years at Anfield.
However, with Mbappe being one of the most highly sought players in world football, signing the French international is bound to be a very expensive affair for the Premier League champions. PSG had themselves bought the World Cup-winning attacker for a transfer fee worth £165 million from Monaco two summers ago, a cost the Champions League runners-up would surely be looking to recoup.
But with Liverpool FC’s recent long-term association with Nike, of whom Mbappe is a major endorser, a large section of the club’s fanbase believes it would now be much easier for the Reds to bring the highly-talented forward to Anfield in the near future.
