Real Betis set to demand £25 million for Liverpool target Guido Rodriguez

As reported by Liverpool Echo, Liverpool is keeping a close eye on Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez this summer. However, the Reds will have to shell out £25 million to sign the Argentine star.

Real Betis struggled to sign key players during the summer transfer window due to severe financial troubles. They appear to be willing to sell a valuable player, and Liverpool will try to take advantage of the situation.

The problems in Liverpool’s midfield are well known, and Jurgen Klopp needs to sign a top-notch midfielder to improve the situation. The Reds have had a very dismal season and are currently stuck in the 10th spot in the league table.

Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are currently the top-choice defensive midfielders for the Reds. However, the captain of Liverpool has given really subpar performances. In the meantime, Fabinho is having trouble finding his best form and could benefit from having additional competition.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita have also struggled with ongoing injury issues. Even summer acquisition Arthur Melo is sidelined for a few months after suffering an injury in practice.

Right now, Klopp sorely needs more players in the midfield. Guido Rodriguez has performed admirably for Betis and might be a wise acquisition for the team. The 28-year-old will provide more stability and defensive composure.

Liverpool’s season might be decided by their decision to sign appropriate players during the January transfer window. Guido Rodriguez will cost the Reds a fee in the region of €25 million and this rumoured asking price seems reasonable for a team like Liverpool.

It remains to be seen whether all sides can reach an agreement in the upcoming months as the player is sure to be enticed to move to Anfield.
