Sassuolo after Liverpool’s Marko Grujic to replace the outgoing Manuel Locatelli

Serie A outfit Sassuolo are eyeing up a move for Liverpool outcast Marko Grujic with the Italians set to lose their midfield asset Manuel Locatelli in this summer’s transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the 25-year-old Grujic who has been subject to much transfer speculation as of late over his Anfield future beyond the summer is a key target for Sassuolo.

Liverpool are understood to be willing to part ways with Grujic ahead of the next season but are playing hardball over the fee for the Serbian international which has put off another interested club in FC Porto.

The Portuguese giants were the frontrunners to sign the midfielder after he spent the last season on loan with them but with Liverpool’s insistence over the price-tag for the player, Porto seemed to have hit a roadblock in their negotiations for Grujic who is not wanted by Klopp despite his search for fresh blood to induct into his midfield department.

Klopp has been on the hunt for Gini Wijnaldum’s replacement in the transfer market with Brighton’s Yves Bissouma his top name on the shopping list for the Merseysiders in the summer transfer window.
