Steve McManaman delighted with Liverpool’s activity in this summer window

Ex-Liverpool man Steve McManaman is delighted with Jurgen Klopp’s activity in this summer’s transfer window with three new recruits in the bag for the Anfield camp.

The Merseysiders are said to be done on the transfer business front after bringing in the likes of Fabio Carvalho, Calvin Ramsay and Darwin Nunez, the latter of whom arrives for a potential club-record fee from Benfica.

McManaman, while lavishing praise on Liverpool’s business so far in the transfer window in his interview with horseracing.net, said that any more additions to the ranks could be one too many for Jurgen Klopp’s men who are well-stocked across departments.

“I don’t believe Liverpool need to make more signings this summer.

“Where would you put them? They’ve made three signings already this summer. They’ve brought in Fábio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay, who are two players for the future and they’ve also brought in Darwin Núñez, who’s another player for the future to a certain extent but has cost them a lot of money.

“Players will have to leave as there isn’t enough space to fit everybody in. Keeping the players happy now is as hard a job as it is to jam all of these players into the team. I can see a number of players leaving, with Liverpool beginning to recoup some of the money they’ve spent. That just makes business sense.”

Klopp, meanwhile, appears set to give his nod to a number of outgoings from his squad before the next season gets underway with the Neco Williams, the Welsh right-back, closing in on his move out the exit door.

The newly promoted Nottingham Forest are the frontrunners for Williams’ signature with Steve Cooper’s outfit lodging a bid to prize away the wantaway Welshman who spent last season on loan at Fulham.
