Thiago Alcantara and Curtis Jones sit out Liverpool training ahead of Watford clash

Thiago Alcantara and Curtis Jones sat out Liverpool training ahead of Watford clash with injury concerns growing for the Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

The visitors to Vicarage Road will be without defensive midfielder Fabinho who is not due for a return in time for Saturday’s fixture following his commitments with the Brazil national team alongside Liverpool No.1 Alisson Becker.

Adding to Liverpool’s concerns on the squad selection front was the absence of midfield pairing Thiago Alcantara and Curtis Jones from the team training sessions on Thursday, according to reports from the club’s official website.

Jones has been an influential performer for Jurgen Klopp’s side as of late and was backed to retain his spot on the teamsheet come Saturday against Watford with the likes of Fabinho and Thiago absent.

Klopp could be forced into giving a rare outing to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain amid his side’s injury crisis with the midfielder’s future at Anfield beyond January looking rather speculative as Arsenal weigh up a move for their former player.
