Thiago has agreed to a four-year deal with Liverpool?

Long-term target Thiago Alcantara is reported to have agreed upon a four-year deal with Liverpool FC ahead of formally joining the Merseyside giants this summer. The Spanish international has been adamant about signing for the Reds ahead of the 2020-21 season despite Bayern Munich’s attempts to keep hold of their star midfielder.

However, a transfer fee still remains to be decided in a mutual fashion by the two teams. Rumors suggest that Liverpool FC will have to pay the German giants €30 million to seal the 29-year old’s transfer.

The Spaniard is still involved in Bayern Munich’s pursuit to win the UEFA Champions League in order to complete a treble for the Bundesliga outfit. Thiago starred in Hansi Flick’s side’s 8-2 thrashing of FC Barcelona last week, with the midfielder playing a wonderful brand of attacking football on the pitch against his former club.

With just a year remaining on his current Bayern deal, the German club are undoubtedly being forced to sell the 29-year old. The Bundesliga giants do not want to lose out on their long-serving midfielder for nothing next summer.

Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp is a long-term admirer of Thiago’s playing style, according to reports. The duo had faced each other several times during Klopp’s stint as the Borussia Dortmund coach prior to him taking the job at the Anfield outfit.
