Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in the running to provide competition to Liverpool for signing Inter Milan’s highly-rated midfielder Nico Barella.
The Italy international maestro, who was an influential performer for his country during the Euros winning campaign, has been linked with a move to Anfield in the recent past with Liverpool looking to add to their midfield ranks.
According to a report from The Liverpool Echo, however, Jurgen Klopp’s Merseysiders could be given some tough competition in their pursuit of Barella’s services with North London giants Spurs also interested in moving in for the player.
Liverpool have been handed twin setbacks in their hopes of bolstering the midfield options at Klopp’s disposal with long-standing target Aurelien Tchouameni signing for Real Madrid and Dortmund refusing to sanction Jude Bellingham’s departure.
Bellingham is said to be a top name on the wishlist for Klopp with the Reds head coach likely to make a formal approach for the English midfield starlet come next summer despite Dortmund’s hefty valuation of the former Birmingham City midfielder.
