Trent Alexander Arnold’s Display against Leicester was ‘one of the best’ reveals Liverpool legend

Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock admitted that Trent Alexander Arnold’s display against Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes was one of the best throughout the whole Premier League campaign this term.

The Liverpool right-back provided two assists and scored a sublime goal in a game billed as one of his side’s biggest tests of the Premier League campaign this season.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s destruction of Brendon Rodgers’ Leicester in Liverpool’s 4-0 win on Boxing Day was a milestone performance and been hailed as one of the best performances by Klopp’s team this term, according to Stephen Warnock.

The marauding defender assisted two goals for Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino before adding a superb strike of his own to take Liverpool 13 points clear at the summit of the Premier League table.

Alexander-Arnold had more touches than any other player on the pitch in that game with 106, provided three key passes for goals and fired in 17 crosses from the right-hand side of the pitch.

The 21-year-old is arguably one of the most creative players in Jurgen Klopp’s team and is able to pick out a pass for his forwards from virtually any position on the pitch. Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock has been mightily pleased with the Scouser in the team and hailed his display at the King Power as one of the best ever in the top-flight this season.

While speaking to LFCTV, the former Reds said, “I thought Liverpool just dominated the game. It was one of those games where everyone was looking at it as a potential banana skin, going to Leicester, a difficult game, but Trent in that game especially was just unplayable, everything he did was incredible. When he stepped onto that ball [for his goal] I’m thinking, ‘Take a touch, take it further into the box.’ But such was his confidence and the way he was, the strike was just magnificent.”

Warnock further claimed that his outing showed the composure and development of the Liverpool academy product, “It sort of showed how far he has come as a player as well; it wasn’t just a moment for Liverpool, it was a moment for Trent as well. For everyone to sit up and realise how much quality he actually possesses.”
