World Cup-winning star on the move to Liverpool?

A host of top English sides have been alerted to the possibility of Antoine Griezmann seeking a move to the Premier League. Liverpool FC will be challenged by rivals Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to sign the World Cup-winning forward, reports suggest.

Following Lionel Messi’s U-turn over his initial decision to leave FC Barcelona this summer, the Argentine international looks set to start next season as the La Liga giants’ primary attacking force on the pitch.

However, this would cause a major doubt over Griezmann’s future in the Barca shirt after his first season at the club turning out to be a disaster. The 29-year old failed to win the hearts of the FC Barcelona supporters with his showings in front of the goal after his big-money move from Atletico Madrid last summer.

And now the Frenchman could be forced to exit the Camp Nou giants after a sole season, with Jurgen Klopp’s side being considered a likely destination for the attacker. The high-intensity style of play at the Merseyside club is suitable for Griezmann’s attacking instincts, a familiar approach for the player from his Atletico days.

But whether the Premier League champions fork out a massive transfer fee to land the player is a very big question at this point of time. Jurgen Klopp may be tempted to make a move for Griezmann next summer, as the Liverpool FC boss has ruled out any significant arrivals at Anfield ahead of next season time and again.
