Liverpool could finally be in line to offload Xherdan Shaqiri in this summer’s transfer window with the Swiss wide man agreeing upon personal terms with French outfit Lyon.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the 29-year-old Shaqiri has signed personal terms with Lyon and the contract will run until the summer of 2024 as the player nears his move away from Anfield this summer.
Shaqiri had been heavily backed to call it quits on Merseyside ahead of the start of the new campaign for Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp giving the nod to the player’s sale with Lyon the latest club to join the fray.
Serie A giants Lazio had been credited with a strong interest in landing the signature of the Liverpool wantaway man but Lyon’s recent emergence in the mix made them the frontrunners to bring in the Swiss international.
Liverpool are likely to dip into the transfer market themselves before the deadline later this month to bring in attacking reinforcements after Shaqiri completes his transfer.
