Liverpool look resigned to losing out on wantaway star forward Xheran Shaqiri on the cheap with speculation rife that the Swiss international was heading for an exit from Merseyside this summer.
Shaqiri has made his intentions clear of calling it quits at Anfield ahead of the start of the 2021-22 season with the former Inter Milan playmaker falling down the pecking order in recent campaigns.
Transfer Update #Shaqiri: He has got the permission to leave #LFC. The price tag: below €10m! He can also imagine a return to the Bundesliga. But no concrete talks so far. @SPORT1

Serie A outfit Lazio have been backed to be leading the widely-contested race to sign the 28-year-old wide player but reports from SPORT1’s Florian Plettenberg claim that a return to Bundesliga could also be on the cards for Shaqiri in the ongoing transfer window.
Moreover, Plettenberg suggests that Liverpool look poised to accept a cut-price offer coming their way from the clubs involved in the mix for Shaqiri’s signature as Jurgen Klopp remains keen on shipping out the Anfield deadwood before bringing in some much-needed fresh blood.
Liverpool have only made one purchase in the transfer market this summer in the form of the highly-promising Frenchman Ibrahima Konate who arrives at Anfield from RB Leipzig on a long-term agreement running until 2026.
