4 players Jurgen Klopp will eye up during this summer’s Euros for Liverpool

The Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will oversee the proceedings of the now ongoing UEFA European Championships with great interest during the month-long competition as the German has time on his hands to scout a host of players competing for continental glory with their respective teams.

With Klopp’s Merseyside men finishing this past season on a triumphant note by clinching a third-place finish in the Premier League which assures them of a Champions League berth in the upcoming campaign, the Anfield giants are backed to use the summer transfer window which is now underway to bring in a couple of new faces to bolster their ranks.

Here are 4 such names we think Jurgen Klopp will keep tabs on during the Euros –

1. Florian Neuhaus

The Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder has emerged on Liverpool’s radar for the summer window owing to the Reds losing their long-serving maestro Gini Wijnaldum to fellow European heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain.

Wijnaldum’s departure from Anfield has opened the door for a potential midfield signing to come in and provide Klopp with a viable replacement in the centre of the park.

Neuhaus’ showings for Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga has earned him major plaudits and with the player expected to play a crucial role for Germany in the Euros, he is sure to be a priority for Jurgen Klopp and his backroom staff to scout over the coming weeks.

2. Duje Ćaleta-Car

Ćaleta-Car famously came very close to signing for Liverpool this January but the central defender’s club Marseille made a last-ditch attempt successful to retain him with no replacements at the ready for the French outfit.

The player has acknowledged his desire to play for Liverpool in the past and despite Klopp already bringing in Ibrahima Konate from the Bundesliga to bolster his defensive line, it is believed that another defensive signing for the Merseysiders should not be ruled out.

Ćaleta-Car is a major presence at the back for Croatia and was in good form during his side’s narrow 1-0 defeat to England in the opening group stage fixture for both teams on Sunday.

3. Youri Tieltmans

The FA Cup-winning Leicester City playmaker is a relatively new entrant amongst the players being scouted by Liverpool this summer with the Belgian international putting clubs on alert by stalling his contract extension talks at the King Power Stadium.

Liverpool are backed to bring in a replacement for Wijnaldum and considering Tieltmans’ experience of turning out in the Premier League for the Foxes, the 24-year-old could be a potential arrival on Merseyside ahead of the next season’s start.

4. Ben White

Another defensive name that has courted much attention from Jurgen Klopp and Co. in the past is the up-and-coming Brighton first-team regular Ben White who has earned a spot in the England squad for the Euros after Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold withdrew due to a thigh injury.

White is valued much by the Seagulls who survived the drop zone last season and interest in the centre-back is high not only from Liverpool but also from the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
