Brighton slap £50 million price-tag on star defender Ben White with Liverpool interested

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s replacement in the England 26-man squad for the upcoming UEFA Euros Ben White has long been a target for Liverpool along with some of the biggest clubs in the land.

With White’s increasing value as a promising central defender and on the back of his influential showings for Brighton last season which helped keep Graham Potter’s side afloat in English top-flight football, the Seagulls are insistent on being paid a huge transfer fee to part ways with the 22-year-old this summer.

Reports from the Daily Mail claim that amid interest in signing White coming from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal ahead of the next season, Brighton are in line to demand a lucrative offer to sanction the centre-back’s sale.

White was called up to the England fold after the Reds star full-back Arnold was sidelined for the tournament with a recently sustained thigh injury and the former will be one to watch out for should he get minutes on the pitch for Gareth Southgate’s men.

Liverpool have already dipped into the transfer market to sign Ibrahima Konate and shore up their defensive line but Klopp could be in for another new signing should he let go of Nat Phillips this summer.
