Diogo Jota speaks out on his injury recovery progress

Liverpool FC’s newest attacking recruit Diogo Jota has hit the ground running with his sensational run of showings following his move to Anfield from Wolves this summer, but a recent knee injury has sidelined the Portugal international for the next couple of months.

However, in a recent interview to Liverpoolfc.com, Jota has revealed that he is making great progress on working his way to full fitness as the 23-year-old attacker targets an early return to the first-team fold in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

“Now I am supporting from the outside it is not easy – it’s even harder when you need to suffer as a fan and you can do literally nothing to help the team on the field!”

“But I’m doing my best to be back as soon as possible. Things are going well but knee injuries are always complicated so we cannot rush things, but I am doing well and I will be back on the field as soon as possible, like I say.”

Jota sustained the injury during the 1-1 draw against Danish outfit FC Midtjylland in the UEFA Champions League final group stage tie for the Merseyside Reds, and later reports confirmed early fears of the summer signing being sidelined from further action for a number of weeks.

Klopp’s men have coped well in Jota’s prolonged absence in the Liverpool FC frontline as Mohammad Salah and Roberto Firmino got their names on the scoresheet during the 2-1 win over then-league leaders Tottenham Hotspurs on Wednesday in the Premeir League.
