Alisson Becker Return Date Confirmed

According to the latest reports, Premier League leaders Liverpool have confirmed that star goalkeeper Alisson Becker will return to action against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Alisson picked up an injury against Norwich City on the opening day of the Premier League season as he limped off the pitch at Anfield in August. Reports claimed that the Brazilian would be out for a while and he was replaced by former West Ham United star Adrian who has been hugely impressive between the sticks.

The Spaniard has been incredible in helping the Reds keep their unbeaten start in the Premier League for eight games in a row giving them an 8 point lead at the summit of the League table ahead of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

However, Alisson was always expected to return as the first choice keeper when he got back to fitness. The 26-year-old arrived at Liverpool last summer from Serie A side AS Roma in a then-record transfer fee for a goalkeeper (£60 million) and helped the Merseyside outfit to win the Champions League title in his first season at the club. Alisson also won the Golden Glove in the Premier League the last term for keeping the most number of clean sheets.

Alisson was then awarded the FIFA’s Best Goalkeeper of the Year in 2019 but he was continuing his rehabilitation until now and although he was left out as a precaution for the game against Leicester City last weekend, Alisson will return as the number one shot-stopper for Liverpool against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United.
