Alisson Becker States There Is Still Room For Improvement At Liverpool

The Reds goalkeeper Alisson Becker has reportedly revealed that Liverpool is only going to get better as the season progresses, warning they’re title rivals.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is currently in 2nd place on the Premier League table but are level on points with leaders Manchester City. The reason the Merseyside club are second at the moment is that their front line has not yet hit top gear but they still managed to grind out results against most of the teams they have played against.

With new signings in the summer, Liverpool is certainly title contenders for the Premier League title and one of them, in the form of Alisson Becker will play a major part if Liverpool is to win the Premiership this term.

Alisson was signed for a massive £67 million from Serie A club AS Roma as Liverpool broke the record for the most expensive goalkeeper at the time. The Brazilian has made already made his mark at Anfield but has insisted that Liverpool will only improve further.

While speaking in an interview to news outlet the Metro, the 25-year-old shot-stopper stated that there is still room for growth on the pitch, “We know we can improve on the pitch. I think that’s a positive thing, taking into account the campaign we’ve had up until now – joint-leaders with Manchester City – and there is still room for growth, both technically and tactically.

Alisson added that there are still challenges ahead and that’s the only way Liverpool can show their improvements given their quality, “That’s our biggest challenge: to continue growing and continue to get better, so when other clubs maybe have a dip or have peaked, we can continue getting better and doing our best on the pitch. It’s a really important season for us – one of the high expectations, there are already high expectations on us, given our quality.”

There is still a long way to go in the season and Liverpool have a stiff challenge against Arsenal this weekend. But there is no doubt that Liverpool is far from their fluent best and need to pick up their form as soon as possible.
