Atletico Madrid are said to be keen on signing Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino who is viewed as a replacement for loanee Joao Felix.
Firmino is out of contract at Anfield come the end of the season and speculation is rife over his future with Jurgen Klopp’s side despite talks between the player and the club reportedly underway.
With the Brazil international, who recently returned from a brief spell on the sidelines due to injury, available on a Bosman transfer this summer should he not extend his contract on Merseyside, Atletico are keeping close tabs on the 31-year-old.
According to a report from The Daily Mirror, it is claimed that the Spanish giants are on the lookout for a replacement for Felix who could make his move to Chelsea permanent in the summer window after signing for the Blues in January on loan.
The report also indicates that Liverpool are unlikely to dip into the transfer market for a new signing to provide cover for Firmino as Klopp is expected to depend upon an in-house choice in January signing Cody Gakpo.
