Bournemouth mulling over revisiting their interest in Liverpool defender Nat Phillips

Bournemouth mulling over revisiting their interest in Liverpool defender Nat Phillips with the Cherries lacking quality options in their backline ahead of the start of the new season.

Phillips has been linked with a move away from Anfield in this summer’s transfer window with the 25-year-old far down the pecking order and unlikely to get much game time under Jurgen Klopp’s charge.

He spent the last season on loan with The Cherries and was an influential performer for their promotional campaign which has made Scott Parker’s side eye up a permanent transfer for his services, according to The Liverpool Echo.

Heading into the new campaign, Bournemouth have lost both Phillips as well as veteran centre-back Gary Cahill which could prompt a rethink of Parker’s interest in landing Phillips to bolster his defensive lineup.

Liverpool are understood to be open to another loan exit for the defender but are keen on parting ways with him on a permanent basis to raise funds for potential further activity in the market.
