Dejan Lovren Wants Liverpool To Improve Further

Liverpool centre back Dejan Lovren believes Jurgen Klopp’s side can still get better as he talked up the balance of the Premier League leaders’ squad and depth.

The Merseyside giants were 25 points clear at the summit of the Premier League table when the season was suspended last month due to the coronavirus outbreak in Europe.

Coming off last season’s success in the Champions League success,

Liverpool are on track to add another major trophy to their collection after waiting 30 years for the English top-flight title. Liverpool have stormed the Premier League this season losing just one game and beating every other Premier League club in the English top division.

The 30-year-old Lovren though still believes Klopp’s side can improve, praising the make-up of the squad. While speaking to the club’s official website, the Croatian defender claimed that there is a great mix and blend between young, middle-aged and experienced players which is vital for a team’s rise, “It’s important to have a mix between really young players, the middle [age] players and the experienced players. I think we have it, this is a great balance,”

Lovren further explained that Liverpool are now experienced in playing big games and big finals as the core of the team is already present, “We are used to playing big finals and the big games and we know how to manage it. Even when we are 1-0 down we know what to do. This is why it’s important to have a balance in the team. If we keep the important players and the core of the team here for many years, we will only grow.”

Liverpool was knocked out of the Champions League by LaLiga side Atletico Madrid earlier last month but remain in pole position to win the elusive Premier League title this season.
