Fabrizio Romano claims several clubs interest in signing Liverpool’s Naby Keita

Fabrizio Romano has sounded out that several clubs hold an interest in signing Liverpool’s Naby Keita who faces an uncertain future on Merseyside beyond the end of the season.

Keita’s current terms at Anfield are due to expire next summer and talks between the player and the club so far have failed to strike an agreement over a new deal.

According to a claim from the transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, via CaughtOffside, Keita is said to be keen to determine how much of a key role he would enjoy for Jurgen Klopp’s side should he agree to put pen to paper on an extension.

“There are ongoing contacts between Naby Keita’s camp and Liverpool to decide about the future. There’s been a lot of interest around him for a long time but no official bids.

“Talks with Liverpool will continue, Keita wants to understand how important he’ll be for Klopp in the future before making his final decision.”

Romano’s claim of a host of suitors for Keita comes as no surprise with the former RB Leipzig midfielder linked with the likes of Juventus and Atletico Madrid in the recent past amid rumours doing the rounds over his future in the Liverpool shirt.

Keita’s potential exit from the Liverpool fold could fast-track the club’s plans of moving in for the Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham who has long been considered Jurgen Klopp’s priority target in the transfer market.
