Has Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool paid too much price for their consistency against Watford?

The Reds would be unhappy with the recent development as far as the match with Watford is concerned.

The home side Watford produced a second-half master class while seeing the duo of Ismailia Sarr and Troy Deeney scored on three different occasions in the game.

While African pair and club superstar vying for the Premier League Golden boot with Arsenal marksman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was on show but they failed to find the net like they would have done in other games.

Nobody saw it coming, maybe the birds in the sky did or the vistas of heaven revealed but mankind was carried away as other football matters made the headlines ahead of the fixture.

The Anfield side may have been consistent but their inability to manage pride and insufficient squad depth play a part in the case probably.

This could also be enhanced more likely with some measure (level of) complacency as a normal human being would have when in the midst of success.

This may have caused Liverpool their unbeaten run in the season with the quest to emulate Arsenal’s unbeaten run to the 2004/2005 Premier League gone for real.

The invincible heralded Arsenal’s glory in the past decade under Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger despite all the critics that he should step down which he did for Unai Emery and now his former player Mikel Arteta.

Liverpool could not repeat the feat achieved by the Gunners despite Klopp’s tactical brilliance and team dynamics as we’ve seen a couple of times this season.

This makes them lose their invincible status with much to worry ahead of the home match with Spanish giants Athletico Madrid. Liverpool’s defence has been porous in recent games even as they defeat West Ham United 3-2 at home.

Let’s hope that Liverpool’s quest for a title would not slip from their hands just like that in the time of Brendan Rodgers. This does not look likely this time as the point haul is very high this time.

The Reds are expected to complete the rounds thus winning the Premier League which they’ve been outstanding all season. They have really worked hard for the League title with a couple of impressive performances at the moment.

This should see them earn the bragging right on the podium. They hope to win the next games to avoid a further slip up that may throw the title race open though this is very much unlikely now as the case may be.
