Watford 3-0 Liverpool: 3 Significant Talking Points From The Reds 0-3 Loss

Watford pummeled the Reds as the action took center stage at Vicarage Road in the Premier League. Both sides showed increased their intent going forward in the match but it was Watford that stole the show at home.

Liverpool was expected to perform but their hands seemed to be tied as the host claimed a vital home win with the hope of escaping the relegation zone. This ensured the win for Watford as they defeat Liverpool 3-0. On this note, we evaluate the (3) three talking points  as Watford triumph 3-0 against the Red.

RELEGATION FURY ENGAGED

Liverpool was unlucky at a time like this as they faced the relegation-threatened and the highly motivated Watford sides at home.

Led by Skipper Troy Deeney and Roberto Pereyra, the Hornets believed in what they can achieve despite their current League position.

The home side faced Liverpool with all the animosity they’ve got and this saw them produced positive results as they aim to climb out of the drop zone.

This is critical for the Hornets as they lie along the bottom of the table with Aston Villa, Norwich City, and AFC Bournemouth.

LIVERPOOL FAILS TO PERFORM

As the tie between the Reds and the Hornets loomed, the visitors were expected to run the show but they were underwhelming as the 90 minutes duration may have presented us with the proof to know.

Despite (Sadio) Mane and Mohamed Salah’s involvement in the game, yet nothing seems to click for Liverpool in the entire duration.

This got Jürgen Klopp to succumb to defeat against Watford especially when the third goal came through Troy Deeney with only 8 minutes left to play.

LIVERPOOL NEEDS RESPONSE

The defeat leaves the Reds and Jürgen Klopp needing response as matches took place in the English top-flight across the week.

The Reds would face the effrontery of Athletico Madrid in the coming day and needs a better advantage in that return leg encounter to turn the tie against the Spanish side on aggregate.

The fact that Diego Simeone leads 1-0 thanks to Saul Niguez’s solitary strike is a welcome advantage for the Spanish giants.

This leaves Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp scratching their head as they need a massive response from the Watford defeat to upturn the UEFA Champions League deficit.
