Jude Bellingham backed as Jordan Henderson’s successor in the Liverpool shirt

Jude Bellingham has been backed as Jordan Henderson’s successor in the Liverpool shirt by player-turned-pundit Kevin Campbell.

Henderson put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at Anfield this summer and put rest to the speculation that had surrounded his future with Jurgen Klopp’s camp amid interest in his services from Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.

Klopp, however, remains on the hunt for midfield reinforcements and has reportedly zeroed in on the Borussia Dortmund talent Jude Bellingham as a top name on his shopping list following his exploits in the Bundesliga.

The 18-year-old midfield maestro have proven his talents at the biggest stage with club and country and is backed for a return to his homeland with clubs from England’s top flight keeping close tabs ahead of a potential move.

Speaking to Football Insider, former Everton man Campbell reckons Liverpool will have a prized signing on their hands should they land Bellingham who can emerge as the long-term successor to skipper Jordan Henderson in the centre of the park.

“It would be a big coup if they can get him but it will not be easy.”

“His signature will be coveted by quite a few clubs I imagine. It might end up being an auction. The player might have to listen to all of the clubs and then chose between the highest bidders.

“It is going to be very interesting watching this one. I’m sure Bellingham would love to join Liverpool though.

“He is the long-term successor to Jordan Henderson. When you look at the Liverpool squad, that is what Bellingham would be.

“He is a player who could play at the top level for the next 10 years. Whatever fee it is, it’s cheap because he is already an amazing player at the age of 18.”
