Jurgen Klopp pens a new two-year contract extension at Anfield

Jurgen Klopp has put pen to paper a new two-year contract extension at Anfield with the German set to stay put on Merseyside until 2026.

A statement from the club’s official website has confirmed that Klopp has signed an extension with Liverpool where he took over the managerial reigns back in October 2015.

Klopp’s earlier deal was in line to conclude come the summer of 2024 but the former Dortmund manager has committed his future to the Anfield giants by penning a new two-year contract alongside his assistants Pepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz.

There has been speculation of late that Klopp was set to leave Liverpool upon the expiry of his previous terms with potential job offers from the German national team and Spanish giants Real Madrid proving lucrative for the 54-year-old.

Liverpool head into the final stages of this campaign on course for a historic quadruple with Klopp’s Merseysiders hoping to make history by clinching the remaining three trophies up for grabs.
