Juventus set to table an improved bid for Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino

Juventus are in line to table an improved bid for Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino who has emerged as a top target for the Serie A giants in this summer’s transfer window.

Firmino was not one of Jurgen Klopp’s go-to names to draft in the Liverpool forward lineup last season due to the Brazilian’s recurring injury niggles coupled with the arrival of Luis Diaz from FC Porto midway through the campaign.

The veteran attacker, however, remains an influential player in the Liverpool camp but that has not deterred Juventus from mulling over making a second and improved offer to sign him, according to a report from the Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Juventus are understood to have previously bid €23 million for the 31-year-old Brazil international which was turned down by Liverpool who are likely to seek a hefty asking price should they be open to sanction Firmino’s exit this summer.

The Reds have brought in the 22-year-old Uruguay international Darwin Nunez from Benfica this summer in a mega-money deal which could open the door for Firmino’s possible departure should the right offer arrive.
