Liverpool at an advanced stage in talks to extend Alisson Becker’s contract

Liverpool are believed to be at an advanced stage in talks to extend Alisson Becker’s contract at Anfield just days after star full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold committed his long-term future to the club.

Arnold has signed a long-term deal with the Merseyside camp and it is claimed that Jurgen Klopp is keen on offering the same terms to a host of the regular names on the Liverpool starting teamsheet.

First in line to be offered a new long-term contract is the Liverpool No.1 Alisson Becker, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who reckons that the Brazil international shot-stopper is in advanced talks with the club.

Alisson has been a hugely important figure in the Liverpool camp ever since his move to Anfield from Serie A side AS Roma three summers back and despite some hits and misses from the Brazillian last season, he remains one of the very best in his position in world football.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper is largely expected to put pen to paper on a five-year deal that will convince his suitors in the transfer market to look elsewhere as Liverpool show their commitment to retaining his services for the forthcoming years.
