Liverpool cool their interest in signing Borussia Moenchengladbach star Florian Neuhaus

Borussia Moenchengladbach star Florian Neuhaus is no longer a viable candidate for Liverpool to replace the now Paris Saint-Germain man Gini Wijnaldum in the centre of the park at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp had been expected to go all out for Neuhaus who has been one of the top local talents in Germany across the past season and has gained interest from the Reds who remain on the lookout for a new midfield name this summer.

Reports from The Echo, however, claim that the interest previously shown by Liverpool seemed to have cooled as of late with Jurgen Klopp’s side not backed to shift their focus towards Ajax’s 19-year-old  Ryan Gravenberch.

The Holland international teenager is seen as a highly promising player by the Merseysiders who have the likes of Brighton’s Yves Bissouma and Porto’s Otavio too on their shopping list for the ongoing transfer window.

Wijnaldum’s exit for France upon the end of his Liverpool deal leaves Klopp one important player short in the midfield area which despite having a host of names has quite a few injury-prone ones in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita.
