Liverpool in talks with Blackburn Rovers over the sale of defender Ben Davies

Liverpool are involved in talks with Blackburn Rovers over the sale of defender Ben Davies who is expected to leave Anfield in this summer’s transfer window.

Davies signed for Jurgen Klopp’s Merseyside giants in January 2021 during the injury crisis in the defensive ranks but the former Preston North End man is yet to make his debut outing in the Liverpool shirt.

According to a report from The Daily Mail, Liverpool are hoping to cash in on the centre-back before the next season kicks off and have opened negotiations with Blackburn who are keen to move in for Davies.

Davies spent the 2021-22 campaign on loan at Sheffield United but Blackburn Rovers remain interested in the Liverpool outcast for a permanent transfer which would be open to the Liverpool camp to balance their wage books.

The defender pockets a sizable £60,000 per week at Anfield and has three more years to run on his current terms which could fetch Liverpool a decent asking price from his suitors in the transfer market.
