Liverpool plotting a move for £86m-rated Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes

It appears that Liverpool have been impressed by Rodrygo Goes’ recent displays both at the club and international levels, leading them to express their desire to sign him and strengthen their attacking options.

As reported by Fichajes, the Reds have singled out the Real Madrid winger as their top choice to step in for Mohamed Salah should they find themselves in a position where they need to sell the Egyptian in the upcoming transfer window.

According to the report, Madrid may consider selling Rodrygo if they successfully sign Kylian Mbappe next year, and they are looking for a transfer fee of approximately £86 million for the South American player.

This means that Liverpool would need to make a huge financial commitment to acquire his services. In recent months, there have been significant rumours linking Salah with a departure from Anfield, with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad reportedly showing interest in signing him.

During the summer, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team made an official bid of around £150 million to secure Salah’s signature, but Liverpool turned down the offer as they were determined to retain their star player.

Despite Liverpool’s firm stance, it has been suggested that Al-Ittihad have not abandoned their pursuit of the African star and are preparing an improved offer to persuade Liverpool to part ways with the 31-year-old.

If the Reds do decide to let their star player depart, acquiring Rodrygo could be a savvy move to replace him. The Brazilian is known for his versatility, capable of playing in various positions across the frontline.

The Brazilian is a highly talented player, and if Liverpool chooses to secure his services in the upcoming transfer window, he could be a significant and valuable addition to their squad.
