Liverpool set to offer a new deal to skipper and star midfielder Jordan Henderson

Jordan Henderson could be in line to end his playing career at Anfield with the England international set for a contract extension which will ensure his long-term stay on Merseyside.

Reports from The Mirror claim that Liverpool are looking to table a contract extension for their skipper and midfield general Henderson who has been a vital cog in the centre of the park for Jurgen Klopp’s side in recent seasons.

Henderson’s current deal at Anfield runs for another two years and it is believed that the club are keen on the 31-year-old Englishman penning new and improved terms before heading into the 2021-22 campaign.

Liverpool signed Henderson from Sunderland in 2011 when club icon Kenny Dalglish was in charge at Anfield and since his move to Merseyside, Henderson has made nearly 400 outings for the Reds across all competitions and has led the club to Champions League and Premier League glory in successive years.
