Liverpool v Brighton: Preview | Premier League 2018/19

Brighton travel to Liverpool for the late kick off on Saturday. It looks like a real banker for Liverpool as they look to maintain their perfect start to the season. Liverpool beat West Ham 4-0 on the opening day and Crystal Palace by 2-0 at Selhurst Park. They are the only team to not concede a goal yet.

Brighton have lost their previous 5 match-ups against Liverpool in all competitions conceding 20 goals in the process. Last season the aggregate score between them was 9-1 to the Merseyside giants.

Brighton manager, Chris Hughton in his press-conference said that away trips don’t get tougher than this. Liverpool are in good form and new signings have gelled with the squad very quickly. Naby Keita has taken absolutely no time and looks like he has been playing with Salah and Mane for ages.

Alisson has misplaced just 4 passes altogether in his 2 matches so far. He has kept a clean sheet in both of them and is a very reassured presence behind the backline.

Brighton are fresh from beating Manchester United at home. They scored 3 goals against a United defence which generally is considered quite solid. Lewis Dunk is doubtful for this match, but has made a quick recovery and it wouldn’t be surprising if Chris Hughton throws him into the mix at some point in the match.

Klopp has signaled that he might be changing up his starting 11 a bit. Liverpool have gone with the same starting 11 in both their matches and it has worked for them impeccably. The German boss would be looking to continue his string of wins and clean sheets and Brighton at home doesn’t look intimidating on paper at all.

Prediction: Liverpool 3- 0 Brighton
