New MLS side St Louis City eyeing a move for Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino

New MLS side St Louis City is reportedly eyeing a move for Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino who is set to leave the Anfield fold come the summer.

The long-serving Reds frontman has decided not to renew his terms on the Merseyside beyond the end of the season and Firmino is set to head out the exit door in search of a new challenge.

According to a report from The Sun, it is claimed that American club St Louis City, joined the MLS at the start of this year, are keeping tabs on the Brazil international in the hopes of convincing him to make a move to the Stateside.

After a good start to the season for St Louis City with three wins from three to top the Western Conference, the club are looking to bring in a high profile signing to bolster their squad and have identified Firmino as a potential target for the summer window.

Sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel has worked with Firmino during the latter’s time at Bundesliga side Hoffenheim and his presence could be critical to the Liverpool man’s next destination.
