Paris Saint Germain Set To Give Liverpool Heartbreak With Midfield Gem

According to the latest reports, Liverpool is set to receive a massive setback in the pursuit for Paris Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the winter transfer window as he is offered a massive contract by the Ligue 1 champions.

The Reds were keen on signing Rabiot in order to bolster their chances of winning the Premier League title this season but may now have to look at alternatives instead.

Liverpool has enjoyed a great start to the season as they currently sit on top place in the Premier League table. The Reds are also on the top of their Champions’ League group C despite some tricky opponents in the form of Paris Saint Germain and Napoli. But the Merseyside club is yet to hit top gear in terms of their front line firing and is still finding their feet early on in the season.  The likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane are yet to hit the heights of last season which definitely means that Liverpool are title contenders this season but the Merseyside club still have some missing links in their squad at the moment.

Despite spending big in the summer transfer window and bolstering his squad adding depth and quality, Klopp missed out on his prime targets in the form of Lyon attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir.

Jurgen Klopp’s side was held to a 1-1 draw against North London side Arsenal this weekend at the Emirates Stadium and Liverpool was harassed and hassled by the Gunners. Brazilian midfielder Fabinho was not really able to understand the pace of the Premier League and he was clearly struggling to cope with his opposite numbers

Paris Saint Germain’s Adrien Rabiot fits the bill quite perfectly at the moment and the French midfielder has been linked with a move to Liverpool for quite a while now this season. But alas, Italian report Calciomercato stated that Rabiot was close to signing a new contract with PSG and will extend his contract with a staggering weekly wage. Rabiot is set to earn a stunning £7 million a year if he pens a new deal at the Parc Des Princes. This will give a big blow to Liverpool, who were hoping to lure Rabiot to Anfield as early as the winter transfer window.
