PSG attempt to hijack FC Barcelona’s move for Gini Wijnaldum with bumper contract

FC Barcelona are being rivalled by Paris Saint-Germain at the very last moment for out-of-contract midfielder Gini Wijnaldum with the Dutchman set for an exit from Anfield after saying his goodbyes this last week.

Wijnaldum had been heavily tipped to make the move to FC Barcelona who had been chasing the former Newcastle United man since the last summer but it seems as if another club has entered the fray for the highly-rated midfielder.

Fabrizio Romano claims that FC Barcelona are still waiting on Wijnaldum to confirm his deal with them with the Holland international already having given his verbal seal of approval to Ronald Koeman’s side on a three-year-long contract.

Meanwhile, PSG are also in line to receive an answer from their transfer target whom they have offered a substantial wage bump in the hopes of luring him to the French capital city.

PSG’s interest in signing Wijnaldum is certainly not very sudden with the Parisians having enquired about the 30-year-old earlier as well but with Barcelona on the verge of concluding the prolonged transfer, it remains to be seen which destination turns out to be Wijnaldum’s favourite.
