Alexander Arnold Could Become The Best Right Back In The World Say Pundits

Sky Sports Football pundits Jamie Carragher and David Ginola have stated that Liverpool defender Trent Alexander Arnold could go on to become one of the best in the world.

20-year-old superstar Alexander Arnold is looking to make a big name for himself and he is on the verge of doing so with impressive performances this season. Most recently, the English right-back scored a lovely free kick against Watford in Liverpool’s 3-0 win at Vicarage Road on Saturday. Alexander Arnold curled a superb shot past Ben Foster after netting his first goal for England during the friendly against the USA earlier in the week.

Alexander Arnold broke into Klopp’s first team back in 2016 and has become a crucial member in the German’s side. At such a tender age, he is showing the maturity of a veteran and his talent and potential was touched upon by Jamie Carragher and David Ginola.

While speaking on Sky Sports, French legend David Ginola stated that he is very impressed with Alexander Arnold and compared the youngster to English legend David Beckham, “I like this player! He has everything he needs to be one of the best [right backs in the world]. He’s fast, but he’s also a fast thinker. He creates things. He has pure talent. David Beckham was one of the best [at free-kicks], Trent looked like him with that goal.”

Even former Liverpool captain Jamie Carragher showered praise on Alexander Arnold’s free-kick and admired the defender’s courage and touched on his ability to help the back line as well, “The courage and ability to take that free-kick instead of Salah is brilliant. The narrative all season has been “when are they going to play like they did last year?” ‘But are they a bit different this season? It could be a bit more like the Liverpool teams I played in. They can rely on the defense to win them games and that’s so important.”

Alexander Arnold has not been at his usual best this season despite that stunning free-kick but he has the potential to grow and become a great right back for Liverpool and even captain the club one day.
